Meet the Doctors

Dr. Danielle Kelner

Dr. Danielle Kelner is the owner and operator of Kelner Periodontics. Her goal is to make patients feel comfortable and help them understand the necessary treatments provided.

She graduated with honors from the University of Virginia in 2002 and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine) in 2006. She completed her residency in periodontics and implants at New York University in 2009. 

She has been named a Top Dentist in New Jersey Monthly Magazine, and she is also board-certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Kelner regularly takes continuing education courses and holds membership with both the American Dental Association and the Greater Westfield Dental Society.

Dr. Richard Kelner

Dr. Richard Kelner no longer sees new surgical patients, but enjoys working part-time at Kelner Periodontics with his daughter and continuing to help patients that he has known for decades.

Dr. Richard Kelner graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, after which he became involved with the alumni association and booster club there. He attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey for both his dental and periodontal degrees. He was not only a Chief Resident as a post-doctoral student but also taught graduate and post-graduate classes for over ten years. Additionally, he held a seat on the Board of Overseers for the School of Dentistry for five years. Dr. Kelner’s goal is to help his patients maintain their natural teeth in a functional and esthetic way for as long as possible.

He is continually taking advanced continuing education courses in periodontics and general dentistry and lectures locally about integrative medicine, periodontal therapy, and implants to the public, fellow dentists, and physicians. Dr. Richard Kelner has published several articles in his field and has lectured at major conferences, including the International Association of Dental Research. Dr. Kelner is the Program Chair for the Greater Westfield Dental Study Club, where local dentists are exposed to the latest concepts in the various disciplines by regional dental experts. 

Throughout his career, Dr. Kelner has been a member of many organizations, including the New Jersey and American Academy of Periodontics as well as the America Dental Association. He has been voted Top Dentist by Consumer Research several times. 

Dr. Danielle Kelner has three young children and enjoys traveling in her spare time. She also loves working with her father, Dr. Richard Kelner.
