Our Focus is On Your Safety

At Kelner Periodontics, we have always adhered strictly to all recommended safety precautions and sterilization procedures; and, we have gone above and beyond what is required to remove any possible deficiency or error.

On surfaces, the novel coronavirus is much more easily deactivated than many of the pathogens we have long safeguarded against, such as hepatitis and HIV. However, to combat against any possible airborne spread of coronavirus, we have rethought everything we do from when a patient schedules their visit through when they leave our office.

Your Health First

At Kelner Periodontics, we have always been committed to best practices in maintaining a sterile office. Our strict procedures and multiple safety checks ensure all equipment is properly sterilized. Due to the pandemic, Dr. Danielle Kelner also instituted these safeguards:

  • Installation of Puradigm active air-scrubbing purifiers to deactivate airborne pathogens like coronavirus immediately as they enter the air

  • Additional personal protective equipment, including N95 respirators for all care providers

  • Elimination of paper forms

  • All care providers wear scrubs that are kept and sanitized in our office

  • Reduction in the number of patients scheduled and an increase in time allotted for turning over each operatory for the next patient to be seen

Kelner Periodontics follows all CDC and ADA guidelines for treating dental patients during the coronavirus pandemic:

  • Request that dental staff call patients prior to the scheduled appointment to ask questions about their current health status.

  • Advise patients to wear a face covering when entering the dental practice.

  • Limit the number of people who accompany a patient to the appointment. If possible, the patient should make the visit alone.

  • Assess all patients upon arrival; temperature checks may be completed.

  • Remove items in office waiting rooms such as toys or reading material to limit potential transmission through high-touch surfaces.

  • Encourage social distancing practices by minimizing the number of patients in the waiting room by spacing appointments thoughtfully and by asking patients to wait in their car until the dental staff is ready to treat them.

  • Advise dental staff members to wear additional personal protective equipment (PPE), such as surgical masks or N95 masks, full face shields or goggles with side shields.

  • Place hand sanitizer generously around the office for use, and ensure surfaces are cleaned regularly.
